Steelers Rookie KR Reggie Dunn Sat Out Monday With a Shoulder Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie undrafted free agent Reggie Dunn is attempting to make the final 53 man roster as a specialist, but the Utah product was forced to miss practice Monday with an injured shoulder.

Head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t go into detail on the status of Dunn, but is expected to give an update Tuesday during his press conference.

So far in the preseason, Dunn has returned two kickoffs for 73 yards and four punts for another 60 yards. In addition, he also has three fair catches to his credit. At wide receiver, the speedster has only caught one pass for 10 yards in very limited playing time on offense.

The worst thing that can happen to Dunn right now is for him to miss the final preseason game with an injury as open roster spots are pretty sparse right now with the final cut down day swiftly approaching. Hopefully he will be sable to resume practicing on Tuesday as Wednesday will be a travel day for the team as they get ready to take on the Carolina Panthers Thursday night.

Most kick offs go into the end zone. Roster spot too valuable. Cut him.

i really hope he can make the squad, we really need some splash plays and keep wheaton and brown off the special teams from retuning kicks and punts.. the way the speical teams is playing we dont need fro wheaton and brown to get hurt.

but if i defense does what its suppose to do, he should get alot of punt returns.. now if he cant punt return then yes, cut him

Field position is everything, about 45% of kickoffs went as touch backs. Dunn is a special player…

Dunn is a splash player, something the steelers need on a team that is on average slow.

How many kick offs has he returned in 3 games? 1,2?
