Report: Steelers LB Jarvis Jones Out Of Hospital After Test Come Up Negative

According to Burt Lauten on Twitter, Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones has been released from the hospital and test done on his injured chest came up negative. Jones had been taken to the hospital via an ambulance following the game.

While we don’t know for sure how long the Steelers first-round draft pick will be sidelined, it at least appears as though the injury suffered when the linebacker was tackled following an interception of a deflected pass is not serious.

Jones registered two assisted tackles and one special teams tackle in the preseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Saturday night and he continued to be use early in the game as part of a rotation package.

The Steelers final preseason game is Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers, so it will not be surprising to see Jones held out of the game just as a precaution.

Im not kidding when I say I’d release C.Carter and promote Baxter as the 4th OLB and then put Garvin on the PS

I know I know Baxter is excelling against 3rd Teamers, but so what C.Carter has played against 1st, 2nd and 3rd Teamers over the last couple yrs in preseason..

Baxter showed more in ONE game than Carter ever has..

I’m not sure about Garvin, but day by day I’m leaning more toward the possibility that they carry 5 ILBs and Carter is the odd man out. He may actually still have practice squad eligibility left, which will actually hurt his chances of making the roster. This is one spot that could very well be decided in the last preseason game.

Nice draft; Jones, Bell, Wheaton, Shark, and eventually Jones give the Steelers a little depth at those spots. Besides RB, D-line and those guys, Steelers depth is absolutely pathetic and it will cost them games if injuries add up to too many lost games at QB, FB, TE, O-Line, LB, and CB. Hawthorne gets a pass for now and Beachum doesn’t can’t get good grades if he’s unable to out-play the garbage we’ve seen from our starting tackles.

Yes, 5ILBs and 4OLBs.. I can see that too with the young talent they have inside

Im not sure he has eligibility left though, I think he’s been active for 16games over the last two seasons… or do they only count per season activity?

Actually, now that I re-read the CBA, I believe the nine game rule only applies to free agents. For players signed with their original teams, if you have an accrued season (e.g. were on full pay status for six or more games), you’re no longer eligible. So I don’t think he has eligibility.
