Report: Steelers RB Isaac Redman To Practice Wednesday

According to Missi Matthews of steelers.com, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman said he intends on practicing Wednesday after being forced to sit out the Monday night preseason game against the Washington Redskins with a stinger.

Redman suffered the stinger last Thursday early in practice after getting hit in 11-on-11 drills.

The Steelers certainly need Redman back being as it looks like rookie running back Le\’Veon Bell will be sidelined for at least the remainder of the preseason and perhaps even longer after he suffered a mid-foot sprain early in the game against the Redskins. The Steelers are currently seeking a second opinion on their second-round draft pick, who underwent an MRI on Tuesday and is currently wearing a boot.

There has been no update as of yet on running back LaRod Stephens-Howling, who was also forced to miss the Redskins game because of a minor knee sprain.

Also injured Monday night were running back Baron Batch and fullback Will Johnson. Batch suffered a stinger during the game while Johnson suffered a rib injury. Neither of the injuries are believed to be serious, however, but it is unknown if both will practice Wednesday.

We’re going to need Redman and LSH this season.. good to hear Redmans getting back out there

    Ha!

Jim Wexell speculated that LSH may have suffered the injury earlier in training camp, but played through it, and since he already showed what he could do in the first game, the team is letting him rest. Of course, that’s just speculation.

Agree. We can use em all. They will have a tough go, especially if that OL doesn’t improve and even more so if we don’t have something better than Paulson at TE soon (hear D. Johnson is off the PUP list!).

Dwyer needs to be starting game one. It’s his job to lose as far as I’m concerned. While we have him and he’s motivated (proving it, also contract year, also now a father – helps a 24 year old mature a little faster)…better get some miles out of him. He’s our best bet right now and has earned it more so than any other, IMO. He’s not afraid of contact and will be seeing plenty while Paulson is in there.

Thing about the zone is….if there is consistent penetration from any position…it won’t go.

    Makes sense
