Report: Steelers Rookie DE Nick Williams Unlikely To Play Against Giants

According to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, rookie defensive end Nick Williams is not dressed for the Saturday night preseason opener against the New York Giants.

Williams had a knee problem early in training camp and was sidelined again this past week.

The Steelers seventh-round draft pick is considered a project by defensive line coach John Mitchell and more than likely headed for the practice squad this season.

Williams played defensive tackle in a 4-3 defense at Samford and his conversion to a 3-4 defensive end is expected to take some time.

Nick had high praises and potential. Hope he becomes a difference version of Brett Kiesel.
