Steelers DE Nick Williams And CB Cortez Allen Sidelined On Thursday

The Pittsburgh Steelers have already started their Thursday practice at Latrobe and already we are getting word as to who isn\’t practicing due to injuries.

According to Dale Lolley of the Washington Observer on Twitter, rookie defensive end Nick Williams (knee) and starting cornerback Cortez Allen (knee) are both out today. Williams injured his knee on Wednesday during practice while Allen has been sidelined for several days now with what is being described as knee discomfort.

Also not practicing again on Thursday is cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke (hamstring), who suffered a significant hamstring injury late a few days ago late in practice. Van Dyke is expected to miss quite a bit of time with the injury.

Also not practicing once again is rookie cornerback Terry Hawthorne (knee), who has been sidelined for a few days now.

Head coach Mike Tomlin is expected to update the injury situation following the conclusion of practice and we will bring you those details.

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

I have to think Hawthorne is going to be given every chance possible to make the team. Otherwise, the Steelers look really stupid for throwing away a 5th round pick, since they knew at draft time that he needed the surgery.

Allen needs to get on the field.
