Report: Steelers LB Jason Worilds Fined $15,750 For Hit On Giants QB David Carr

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Jason Worilds was flagged twice last Saturday night in a matter of three plays during the preseason opener against the New York Giants and according to Tom Pelissero of the USA Today, the fourth-year linebacker has been fined $15,750 for one of those penalties.

With :26 left to go in the first half, Worilds was flagged 15 yards for roughing Giants quarterback David Carr after he had already gotten rid of the football. Just two plays later, Worilds was again flagged for 15 yards for unnecessary roughness following an altercation with a Giants player.

Worilds was immediately yanked from the game and was seen getting a stern talking to from head coach Mike Tomlin on his way to the sideline. He did not play another snap for the remainder of the game.

During his first three years in the league, Worilds has only been flagged once and that was for a facemask penalty in the Week 3 game last season against the Oakland Raiders.
