More Second-Team Snaps Tonight For Rookie LB Terence Garvin Against The Redskins?

When Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Stevenson Sylvester went down with an ankle injury during the preseason opener against the New York Giants, undrafted rookie free agent Terence Garvin was the player who replaced him in the second-team defense.

Being as there\’s a chance Sylvester won\’t play Monday night against the Washington Redskins, it will be interesting to see if the West Virginia product again plays alongside Marshall McFadden when the second-team defense relieves the starters.

Garvin played nine snaps initially on defense with the second-team before being relieved by rookie Vince Williams. He did, however, return to the game in the fourth quarter where he finished the game inside alongside Williams. During his 27 snaps on defense, Garvin registered three total tackles and one defensed pass.

Garvin has made tremendous strides during training camp and while he probably won\’t make the final 53 man roster, he could be a candidate for the practice squad should he continue to impress during the preseason.
