Steelers Waive K Danny Hrapmann; Sign RB Jeremy Wright

Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham booted a 60-yard field goal a few days ago in practice and on Friday his competition was booted out of Latrobe as Danny Hrapmann was waived so that the team could sign another running back.

Replacing Hrapmann on the 90 man roster will be Jeremy Wright, who was originally signed by the New York Giants out of Louisville as an undrafted free agent.

Wright rushed for 1,485 yards and 15 touchdowns on 343 carries during his three years at Louisville. In addition, he also returned 40 kickoffs for 998 yards and a touchdown.

During his March pro day, the 5-9, 197-pound Wright reportedly ran a 4.5 forty time and 4.17 short-shuttle.

Although his knee injury is not believed to be serious, the signing of Wright likely means that rookie Le\’Veon Bell will not play Monday night against the Washington Redskins. Also currently banged up is Isaac Redman, who reportedly suffered a stinger Thursday.
