Steelers Offensive And Defensive Snap Counts From Week 4 – Vikings

Below are the snaps counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday loss to the Minnesota Vikings along with some observations.

On a positive note, tight end Heath Miller played 95% of the offensive snaps and was only off of the field for four plays in total.

Rookie wide receiver Markus Wheaton saw a season-high 36 snaps on offense Sunday and rookie running back Le’Veon Bell saw 60 snaps worth of playing time.

On defense, rookie Shamarko Thomas did not see the field on defense with Cortez Allen now back. Rookie linebacker Vince Williams, however, not only started, but played 43 at inside linebacker. It is clear now that he has won the job.

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.
  • dgh57

Wow! No S. Thomas on defense and he has played, not perfect, but pretty good.

  • Ahmad

Gay only saw 12 snaps? I’m kinda surprised then again I shouldn’t be seeing as the Steelers were trying to stop AP.

  • steeltown

Yep… trying to stop AP and in the mean time slipped up in the secondary, you could tell Cortez was not game ready, he’s missed some time and was not up to the task yesterday. He is a much better player than that.

  • Dan

I don’t think Mike Adams should be counted in the snap count stats as he didn’t actually “play” any snaps. You could say he lined up for numerous plays, but he didn’t actually do anything after the ball was snapped.

  • Shannon Stephenson

Clark has been poor all year.

  • Steve

    Good point! (HA)
