Season 4, Episode 18 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I certainly have a lot to talk about following the Pittsburgh Steelers season opening loss Sunday to the Tennessee Titans. We start things off by recapping the injuries and the roster moves that are forthcoming as a result.

As far as the game goes, David and I recap what happened on both sides of the ball and single out which players we thought played good and which ones we thought played bad. We talk about the offensive line and the running back situation moving forward as the team now limps into week two.

We certainly don’t let Mike Tomlin off the hook in this episode as we spend the last part of the show questioning several decisions that were made by him that started with the pregame inactives.

At the end of the show we get to a few reader emails before running out of time.

As always, a few more talking points are mixed in over the course of the show.

Dave, hindsight is usually 20/20, but concerns re the offensive line and its very thin [quality] depth were voiced here as early as pre-draft posts. Some thought it questionable that no offensive linemen were drafted (although they Steelers were supposedly high on several linemen they could have had in the middle rounds). In particular, I wrote at the time that I thought it was a big mistake to have passed on Alabama’s do everything lineman Barrett Jones (he would have added to our stock of Joneses:<).

I wrote all offseason about the offensive line depth not being good and have questioned the selection of Jones in the fourth ever since it was made. You are preaching to the choir here.

One offensive thing I was happy about
    yesterday.

WR A. Boldwin is not a Raven anymore.

  • Shannon Stephenson

I have more concern with how this team has been prepared coming into the season the last 3 years. Ravens blew us out, Bronco’s game wasn’t awful but a loss and then the Titans atrocious outing. To me this is a bigger concern.

  • Bill Bobertson

Maybe they held out Felix because they didn’t want him to get hurt? That’s the only thing I can come up with… Scratching my head here…..
