Bills Decide To Add Former Steelers QB Dennis Dixon To Their Practice Squad

The Buffalo Bills brought in former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon for a workout this past Sunday and after it first looking like they would sign free agent quarterback Pat White instead, they announced the addition of Dixon to their practice squad on Tuesday.

The Bills needed a third healthy quarterback after losing starter E.J. Manuel for a few weeks to a knee injury suffered in the Thursday loss to the Cleveland Browns. They promoted Thaddeus Lewis from the practice squad to be their starter on Monday and that opened up a spot for Dixon, the Steelers former sixth-round draft pick out of Oregon.

Dixon was with the Philadelphia Eagles during training camp and the preseason but released prior to the start of the regular season. He is expected to run the scout team for the Bills during practice until Manuel is healthy enough to return to action.
