Ravens Trade T Bryant McKinnie To The Dolphins

Fresh off their Sunday loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jay Glazer reports that the Baltimore Ravens traded tackle Bryant McKinnie the Miami Dolphins.

The Ravens, unhappy with the play of McKinnie at left tackle to start the season, made a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars a few weeks ago to acquire Eugene Monroe. While the jury is still out on the addition of Monroe, it still hasn’t helped the Ravens struggling running game that only produced a 3.2 yards per carry average in the loss to the Steelers.

The move also leaves Ravens very thin at the tackle position as rookie Ricky Wagner will now be expected to back up both Monroe and right tackle Michael Oher moving forward.

After three straight losses, the Dolphins are really desperate and it will be interesting to see what they gave up to acquire the McKinnie. In addition, South Beach is not the ideal place for McKinnie, who can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

With the NFL trade deadline now just a little more than a week away, the Steelers aren’t expected to make any moves. While they did acquire tackle Levi Brown from the Arizona Cardinals a few weeks ago, it was a very out of character move by the organization that didn’t pan out very well.

UPDATE: John Harbaugh said the Ravens will get conditional late pick in return for McKinnie.
