Report: Jets CB Antonio Cromartie Suffered A Knee Injury Thursday During Practice

According to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie needed an MRI done on one of his knees Thursday after being injured during practice. The injury did not involve contact and the results of the exam weren’t immediately known at the time of the report.

On the Jets Wednesday injury report, they listed Cromartie as practicing fully with a hip injury. On Thursday, however, they listed him as being limited with both a hip and knee injury.

Should Cromartie miss the Sunday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, it certainly would bode well for wide receiver Antonio Brown as the Jets physical cornerback is expected to follow him around most the game.

The Jets aren’t very deep at the cornerback position as rookie Dee Milliner is also currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. Losing Cromartie would likely result in Darrin Walls playing opposite Kyle Wilson.

The Jets Friday injury report should tell us all we need to know about Cromartie’s status if results of the MRI aren’t know before then.
