Report: Steelers LB Lawrence Timmons Has A Fractured Left Hand

According to Mike Prisuta of DVE Radio, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons suffered a minor fracture in his left hand Sunday in the win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Timmons, who currently is sporting a cast on the injured hand, told Prisuta that he can still play and that it isn’t going to hold him back.

Against the Ravens, the Steelers credited Timmons with a career high 20 tackles with 17 of them being solo. Timmons did not miss a tackle in the game and several of his tackles came within three yards of the line of scrimmage.

The Steelers promoted linebacker Kion Wilson from the practice squad on Monday and now we see why. While Timmons might indeed play Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, he could be limited this week in practice.

Head coach Mike Tomlin is expected to address Timmons’ status during his Tuesday press conference.

Aha.. now the Wilson promotion makes sense

I am hoping to keep this question purely theoretical, but If Timmons cant go Sunday, do we start Sly or Wilson?

  • steeltown

Good question… I would assume Wilson would start being that the only reason Sly was even brought back was because Wilson was injured, but its hard to say, you would think Sly has more experience in the Defense but that obviously didn’t help him before, he was on the first list of roster cuts this year

This reinforces to the Defense what a bad thing making interceptions can be.

I’d like to thank the Steelers and the media for at least letting us have one day to enjoy the victory before we found out that the person who had one of the best games of his career broke a bone.
I was scouring the articles saying “Wow! Only Marcus Gilbert injured in a big win?….I can definitely live with that.”
So now it seems a lot more normal. My equilibrium is now in tact.

It is sad but seems to be all so true.

Hopefully there is no setbacks, Timmons is no doubt a key contributor

Kevin Greene played with a broken hand for most of a season. Timmons says he’s fine.

    Dear Mr. Bryan,

Thank you for “Liking” my post. Might I suggest you add a font that would indicate sarcasm and cynicism? I’m sure you understand.
