Steelers DE Brett Keisel And S Troy Polamalu Receive Top Defensive Grades For Play Against Raiders

According to Pro Football Focus, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel and safety Troy Polamalu graded out as the best players on defense Sunday in the 21-18 loss to the Oakland Raiders.

As I wrote in my “winners and losers” post, Keisel got off to a slow start in the game but bounced back nicely from the second quarter on. PFF credited him with one sack, three quarterback hurries and six stops in the game. He also recorded a fumble recovery in the second half as well.

As for Polamalu, he too made my winners list and PFF has him down for a sack, a hurry and two stops. As far as his coverage in the game, Polamalu registered an interception and he probably should be credited for a batted pass as well.

Linebackers Vince Williams and Jason Worilds graded out the worst on defense for the Steelers against the Raiders. In the case of Williams, it was his play against the run that didn’t pass the mustard.
