Steelers Injury Update: Jarvis Jones Diagnosed With A Concussion Wednesday Evening

It was a bit of a surprise when Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones showed up Wednesday on the injury report with a head injury as head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t mention him during his Tuesday press conference. According to Missi Matthews of steelers.com, Jones was diagnosed with a concussion Wednesday evening.

This will certainly get a few headlines as several will wonder why it took so long for the Georgia product to get diagnosed. Jones played 33 snaps in the Sunday win over the New York Jets and was on the field for the Steelers final defensive play in which he forced an interception on.

Jones was also on the field for the final punt by Zoltan Mesko as well.

We should know soon whether or not Jones practiced on Thursday and if he didn’t, there is a good chance he will miss the game Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. If that were to happen, Jason Worilds would get the start in his place.
