Steelers Post Game Injury Report: LB Jarvis Jones Should Be Back Next Week

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media following the 19-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens Sunday at Heinz Field and he updated the injury status of tackle Marcus Gilbert, who left the game early in the first quarter with a quad injury.

“Marcus Gilbert came into the game with a quad and early in the game just really couldn’t get it done,” said Tomlin. “Guy Whimper came in and gave us good work.”

In addition to Gilbert, Tomlin also gave an update on rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones, who sat out the game because of a concussion suffered last week.

“He took an impact test on Friday and passed it, but we double checked,” said Tomlin of Jones. “We brought Dr. Micky Collins over on Saturday and he administered a manual test. He didn’t get to a level of comfort.

“We believe that our doctors are some of the best in the world, we rely on their level of expertise. He handed down that judgment, we didn’t second guess and moved on. He was an inactive guy today. Its my assumption he’ll be ready to go next week.”

Tomlin did not address the status defensive end Brett Keisel, who left the game with a rib injury, but later returned.

2 weeks in a row with a good win, and good play calling, good game planning, D gave up couple big plays but did their jobs for the most part. We continue to play that good, well will see.

Cant wait to see the breakdown of Whimper. I almost $hi+ my pants hearing he was in against Suggs but I didnt hear much from him. Did he play to the line? I have to admit Im still happy theye making a point to Adams.

Glad to hear JJ is coming back. Worlids played the entire game and wasted the opportunity to get his starting job back. One tackle and very little QB pressure. He is serviceable but his performance to should not not impress anyone.

Just me personally I would like to see Dwyer behind Bell those 2 could be a great 1, 2 punch. A patient runner and a bruiser. Just got to hold onto ball.

    I agree.

I was questioning the Steelers decision to dress 8 OL but glad they did now. Great win!

I personally hope they dress 8 every week. The OL seems to be made out of glass.

That was a very disappointing effort for Worilds. Flacco came in as one of the most sacked QBs in the league and was playing from behind throughout the game.
