Steelers Injury Report: LB Jarvis Jones Limited Thursday; T Marcus Gilbert Still Limited

The Thursday injury report for the Pittsburgh Steelers is now in and linebacker Jarvis Jones (concussion) was limited in practice after failing to practice Wednesday.

Jones, who was diagnosed Wednesday evening with a concussion, was cleared to participate in an ‘exercise challenge’ Thursday and that is standard protocol. Defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau is optimistic that Jones will play Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, but the rookie linebacker still has to pass the necessary concussion tests in order to do so. Friday will be a big day for him.

Tackle Marcus Gilbert (quad) was limited again on Thursday with a quadriceps injury, but hopefully will be able to practice fully on Friday.

Newly signed tight end Richard Gordon (toe) did not practice Thursday and was added to the injury report with a toe injury of some description.

Defensive end Brett Keisel (abdomen), tight end Heath Miller (not injury related) and linebacker LaMarr Woodley (knee) all practiced fully Thursday after all were limited on Wednesday.

Wide receiver Markus Wheaton (finger) remains sidelined and has long been ruled out for the Sunday game.

  • dgh57

Wow! Gordon already showing up on a injury report.

  • Afrazier9

yeah that is crazy who ever does are pre signing physicals should be fired

  • Jeff

Good to see Jones is at least expected to play. It can’t be all that bad if he was able to participate at all.

  • steeltown

Well, I guess It could be worse, it could be someones name that was actually scheduled to start on Sunday

  • sean mcmartin

This is almost comical. losing players before they play

  • Virdin Barzey

We need Jones to hunt bear (Ratbird) on Sunday so he needs to be 100% good to go. This game is Worrilds time to get back the attention of the coaches.

Never believe the day that I would say that we need Gilbert. I only say that so we don’t have a Mike Adams sighting on the field. We also don’t need a Ziggy sighting either.

Those two can stay home and watch the game like the rest of us. Its better for the them and the team.

OMG do we select our waiver wire players from the NFL PUP list or go to the NFL hospital for scouting??

  • Douglas Andrews

Must be something in the water we give newly signed players Gordon with a Toe injury already

He did practice on Wednesday but hurt his toe and sat out yesterday. The doctor can’t predict injuries.
