Steelers Waive CB Isaiah Green To Make Room For T Levi Brown

In order to make room for tackle Levi Brown on the roster, the Pittsburgh Steelers waived cornerback Isaiah Green on Wednesday.

Brown was acquired Wednesday via trade with the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional draft pick.

Green was signed to the Steelers active roster from the practice squad on Sept 17 and has been inactive for each of the last two games.

Assuming he clears waivers, Green will likely be signed back to the practice squad later on in the week.

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

I got to stay positive with this move to cut Isaiah and not Whimper. But hope fully he comes back to us via the practice squad.

I am not sure I understand either. Tackles now include Adams, Gilbert, Beachum, Whimp and now Brown. The more I think the confusier I get.

Especially since Tomlin was unwilling to put Whimper in against the Vikings. Why is he there again?

  • SteelersDepot

Whimper is considered a guard by the team for starters. Second, his salary is guaranteed for the season.

Guy Whimper is still collecting a check why? And how many TE’s do we need again? I kind of thing we should be keeping Isaiah Green on the roster, maybe he can actually cover and tackle someone?

  • gene mann

I agree a young cb with good speed over whimper or a TE makes no sense

I know green is sick of pink slips and then brought back only to get a another pink sleep.. Has he had a full check yet ? LOL

  • Douglas Andrews

I know right! plus he was inactive for Sunday’s game also

  • Douglas Andrews

Green hasn’t played this year so nothing lost there. Whimper gets paid for his full salary if you cut him because he’s a vested veteran

  • sean mcmartin

Not Whimper? Ok, I hope for every fan they don’t stop at one trade. find another lineman and w should be average..which is not the worst , not the Best..

To be real, Green is no big loss. I’m curious to the possible conditions of this draft pick tho. Hopefully nothing greater then a 5th rd pick. Right now we’re in position to get Jake Mattews or Taylor Lewan, so we just gotta get through this season, and we’ll have the right pieces soon enough.

  • gene mann

well i guess we will see

  • Chris Ranieri

I like the responsibility you place on the GM and coach. That was simple, yet well put. Hopefully we can get this season going, because I feel like we have some of the best when it comes to FO and coaching staff.
