The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers Trading For T Levi Brown & More Episode

Season 4, Episode 28 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I spend most of this show talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers trading for tackle Levi Brown Wednesday morning. This includes contract and salary cap talk in addition what it means for Mike Adams.

The Steelers are 0-4 and obviously had to do something. We talk about compensation that may or may not be included in the trade discuss both the long and short term ramifications of it.

We also get to a few reader emails at the end of the show.

As always, a few more talking points are mixed in over the course of the show.

    Tomlin/Steeler logic:
Mike Adams sucks at LT (so far). Bring in overpriced vet that is maybe slightly better than a lateral move. Ruin young draft picks confidence and learning curve
    with constant shuffle/benchings.
Ryan Clark sucks at S (so far, this season). Keep playing him and don’t see what you have and can develop in Golden/Thomas. Wait until they are RDFA’s and have to draft that position over and over again.
(a top 3 draft pick anyways)

  • Patrick J Brophy

Dislike the whole comment and the user name.

  • Bilgewater D

Should have said Fire Herm Edwards Jr.

  • Patrick J Brophy

This is getting odd and negative.

  • Bilgewater D

Not odd or negative in a bad way. In my view, Tomlin is a very similar coach to Herm Edwards.

The main difference? Herm Edwards didn’t inherit a team stacked with pro-bowlers like Tomlin.

Tomlin has peaked as a coach. I’m beginning to believe its time to consider moving on from him and Colbert.

At 0-4, its natural to feel negative.

  • StarSpangledSteeler

As far as Antonio Brown ducking down early… I am ALL for it.

It helps avoid injury. It helps avoid fumbles. It helps the speed of the no huddle.

Bring in a different receiver to be your tough guy. Brown is like 5’10” 190. I don’t want him trying to be physical. Let him do what he does best. Be fast.

  • Patrick J Brophy

    I completely disagree.

  • Mike Carroll

No, it’s not better that they got away with only a conditional pick on the trade. It would have been clearly better if Redman were included in the deal since it would have saved $900k (or whaterver the pro-rated portion of Redman’s contract is). Redman has probably played his last snap in the NFL and it would have been great if the Cardinals generously ate the rest of his salary this season. Unfortunately, it looks like the Steelers are the only side eating a poor contract.

YESSS!!!! right now see Bob Labriola reporting Levi Brown down to vet minimum!!!! Awesome! Colbert not as silly as it appeared.

  • Brandon Andrews

on levi brown, anyone thinking flozell adams?

  • Brandon Andrews

eyeroll? same team that went 8-8
