Report: Steelers G Ramon Foster Out Of Walking Boot On Wednesday

During his Tuesday press conference, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin sounded hopeful that guard Ramon Foster would be able to play this coming Sunday against the Detroit Lions after suffering a right ankle injury in the win over the Buffalo Bills. On Wednesday, Bob Labriola tweeted out some positive news as it relates to Foster’s early-week status.

According to Labriola, Foster is now out of his walking boot and is walking without a limp. He still, however, is expected to be limited this week in practice and there’s a chance he won’t practice at all on Wednesday.

Should Foster wind up not being able to play Sunday against the Lions, Guy Whimper would likely start in his place. Whimper, however, has not played well at left guard this season when filling in for Foster.

Foster is expected to talk to the media Wednesday and we will pass along what he has to say about his status later in the day.
