Steelers WR Antonio Brown Goes Over 1,000 Receiving Yards On The Season In Win Over Browns

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown faced his toughest test of the season Sunday as he went against Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden. Needless to say, he passed that test with flying colors in the Steelers 27-11 win.

Haden, who was coming off of two solid games against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens, was beaten Sunday by Brown to the tune of six catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. On that 41-yard touchdown, Haden got caught peeking into the Steelers backfield and Brown gained separation as a result. It was just the fifth time this season that Haden had given up a catch good for 20 yards or more.

Five of Brown’s six catches in the game came in the second quarter and four of those came on the Steelers second possession of the quarter that stalled at Browns 46 yard-line.

Brown now has 80 catches on the season and has also now gone over the 1,000 yard receiving mark for the second time in his young career. He set a franchise record Sunday with his 11th consecutive game with five or more catches.

With five games left in the season, Brown only needs 33 receptions and 355 yards receiving in order to set a new Steelers single season receiving records. Also, Brown’s touchdown was his sixth of the season and that is a new career regular-season high for the Central Michigan product, who undoubtedly will be going to the Pro Bowl once again.
