Steelers Injury Report: DE Brett Keisel Still Sidelined With Foot Problem

The 4-6 Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the 4-6 Cleveland Browns this Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium and the first injury report for the week has now been released.

Not practicing for the Steelers on Wednesday were safety Shamarko Thomas (ankle) and defensive end Brett Keisel (foot). On Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin termed Thomas as doubtful for the game Sunday. Keisel is still battling plantar fasciitis and the hope is that he will be able to practice later on in the week.

Limited on Wednesday were guard Ramon Foster (ankle) , tight end Heath Miller (not injury related), linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (hamstring), center Fernando Velasco (knee) and linebacker LaMarr Woodley (calf). Sylvester, like Thomas, was deemed doubtful on Tuesday by Tomlin. Both Foster and Woodley were unable to practice last week, so Thursday will likely be a big day for both in determining whether or not they will be able to play against the Browns.

Practicing fully on Wednesday were tackle Kelvin Beachum (hip) and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (foot). Sanders left the game Sunday against the Detroit Lions in the second quarter after having his right foot stepped on, but expects to play this week.

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Perhaps the Steelers need to find a new shoe supplier with all of the foot problems they are having this year. It seems rather unusual.

Still nothing on Spaeth? I realize he’s not on the active roster so the team doesn’t have to report about him, but if he was on the practice field, you would think we would have heard about it from some reporter by now.

If he doesn’t practice soon, the season will be over before he gets back into playing shape. That will be a bummer. The Steelers could really use him now.

Indeed. Not sure what everyone has against Spaeth, personally im tired of the lackluster play of Paulson and I hope the Team goes a different direction via the draft next year. Spaeth is a good blocker and damn near the size of a lineman at 6’7 260lbs. We need him, but as you mentioned he probably wont be back to 100% by the time the seasons over. Hopefully next year we can start the season off with Miller and Spaeth completely healthy and new rookie TE that has upside

I think he was being re-evaluated on Tuesday or Wednesday, if he doesn’t practice limitedly today (Thursday) then we’ll know something is up with his rehab
