Rapoport Report: Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders Will Be OK After Suffering A Right Foot Injury

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, "it sounds like" Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will be "OK" after leaving Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions with a right foot injury.

Sanders, who has had problems with his feet in the past, did not return to the game and afterwards head coach Mike Tomlin said during his post game press conference that the SMU product would be further evaluated.

As a result of Sanders' injury, rookie wide receiver Markus Wheaton saw more playing time and ended the game with three catches for 38 yards.

Hopefully Rapoport's source is not the same one that told him quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would ask the Steelers to explore trading him after the season. In other words, take this report with a grain of salt right now.

Tomlin is expected to update the status of Sanders on Tuesday during his weekly press conference.

Crapoport Report: Emmanuel Sanders done for the season, immediately following the diagnosis Sanders was given a 6yr contract extension

i will wait for tomlins report then i will know its the truth…..i for one gave up on any thing that reporter has to say

  • Kenny E. Sloyer

If Rapoport reports he’s Ok, it more than likely means Sanders is Dead…R.I.P.

  • Virdin Barzey

Wasn’t this suppose to be Sanders big year? Should have traded him. Wheaton will be better and still another receiver walks and we get nothing for him.

  • 20Stoney

He’s a nice player but they never should have turned down a 3rd round pick for one year of his services. I think they really overestimated where they were as a team when they did that.

  • SFIC

Well, with the way the the receiving corp handled the situation without Sanders, I hope we don’t make a play on him in the offseason. Also, the upcoming draft could be the best class to come along in years…so, good riddins’ to Sanders if you ask me.

  • Weiss Chad

    Rapaport go home your drunk

  • HarryBackside

Wow. Can’t say it any better than that!

“I think they really overestimated where they were as a team”

Every was convinced that the team had what it took to make a run. That may end up being the case, but only because the rest of the conference has been terrible too.

  • Luis Garcia

Repoport also confirmed that it’s better leaving home with shoes. A source told him.

  • gene mann

sorry but this Guy has no creditability with anything steeler related.

  • Charlie S

That injury will cost him millions…reduces his market value after so many foot injuries

  • Jeff

Welp, you beat me by 7 hours haha… well said.

  • Riverstko

I know we havent drafted a WR in the first round since holmes.

  • Riverstko

It was because the patroits wanted him.

  • Riverstko

    Crapoport make up call lol

  • Steve

Really didn’t notice that Sanders was gone. No BIG loss to me or the Steelers at this point.

  • Chad H

That pick would have been nice. I think we would have been ok with Brown, Cotch, Weaton and Moye. Another Heath type TE with that pick would have been great. Yes Brady probably would have made him look all pro and we would bitch but another TE is what this team needed.

  • Chad H

Crapoport also stated that using toilet paper to wipe your butt after a good deuce works really well.
Thanks Ian you are the best for shit reporting!
