The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their final injury report for the week for the Sunday game against the New England Patriots and it includes some bad news in regards to the offensive line.
Guard David DeCastro (ankle) was unable to practice once again and as a result has been ruled out for the game. DeCastro suffered a right ankle last Sunday against the Oakland Raiders when a player that was blocked by wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery fell into him from behind.
With DeCastro now ruled out, Guy Whimper (knee) is expected to get the start at right guard. Whimper practiced fully once again on Friday and is listed as probable. Like DeCastro, Whimper left the game against the Raiders early in the second half after suffering a hyper-extended left knee.
Despite being limited again on Friday, wide receiver Markus Wheaton was ruled out for the Patriots game. This will be the fourth straight game the rookie has missed since suffering a broken finger in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Also ruled out on Friday was cornerback Curtis Brown (not injury related), who is currently dealing with some undisclosed personal issues.
Practicing fully again on Friday and listed as probable are guard Ramon Foster (concussion), nose tackle Steve McLendon (illness), tight end Heath Miller (not injury related), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) and linebacker Lawrence Timmons (hand).
