Steelers Injury Report: Shamarko Thomas Ruled Out For Lions Game With High Ankle Sprain

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has now wrapped up his Tuesday press conference and during it he updated the injury situation as the team prepares to play the Detroit Lions this coming Sunday at Heinz Field.

Tomlin said defensive end Brett Keisel (foot) has plantar fasciitis and it could possibly limit him early in the week. He is, however, expected to be ready come Sunday.

Guard Ramon Foster (ankle) has a right ankle injury and he too is expected to be limited in practice. Safety Shamarko Thomas (ankle) was ruled out by Tomlin as his left ankle injury is more significant than that of Foster. Tomlin called it a high-ankle injury.

Center Fernando Velasco (knee) has a right knee contusion that could limit his participation in practice early in the week. Like Keisel, Tomlin expects him to be ready come Sunday.

Linebacker LaMarr Woodley (calf) has a left calf strain that will limit his participation early in the week. Tomlin said they will see how that progresses in regards to what his participation will be on Sunday.
