Steelers Injury Report: Tackles Kelvin Beachum And Marcus Gilbert Still Limited

The Thursday injury report for the Pittsburgh Steelers is now in and it includes some good news, as several players that were limited on Wednesday were able to practice fully on day two.

Guard David DeCastro (ankle), defensive end Cameron Heyward (knee) and wide receiver Markus Wheaton (finger) all practiced fully for a second straight day.

Also practicing fully on Thursday were tight end Heath Miller (not injury related), center Fernando Velasco (thigh) and cornerback Ike Taylor (concussion). Taylor had sat out on Wednesday, while both Miller and Velasco had been limited the day before.

Limited again on Thursday were tackles Kelvin Beachum (knee) and Marcus Gilbert (ankle). Rookie linebacker Vince Williams (concussion) was able to return to practice on a limited basis after sitting out Wednesday’s session.

The Steelers will host the Buffalo Bills Sunday at Heinz Field.

    All good news

  • Dan

I think both of them have always been limited.

  • Jeff

Beachum, Beachum, he’s our man! If he can’t do it ………. **long pause** ……. no one else can either!

  • Joe Longo

problem, we got Mario williams this weekend…can anyone on our line block him?

  • Matt Manzo

And if both guys can’t play what do we do? Adams at LT and Whimper at Rt? Or vice versa?

  • whisn

If Adams has to play, he needs to play out of his skin, this could be his big chance to show he’s ready…..of course it could go the other way, this could break him! Go Mike!

It might be we see Big Mike at one of the Tackle spots .

  • stlrfan

we should trade a 5th round pick for jonathan martin

I understand i might be in the minority but i do think Mike Adams deserves another chance. Yes he was dominated in the games he started this year but he did go up against Pepper and Jared Allen. I can’t say that Beachum would of fared better against them. If Adams has more athletic ability and upside i think they should go with him and weather the storm. Beachum is great as a swing backup, im still not sold on him starting at LT.

just get the tackle help with a te or rb …since the coaches dont or wont roll ben out and out the pocket away from pressure where he is better on move …why they continue letting him sit in pocket is beyond me because the line cant hold the pocket

“Weather the storm” could mean Ben gets hurt, in this scenario.

  • Yes lets trade for another draft bust tackle who got benched.

  • No thanks he was bad enough when healthy.

  • Best thing to do to a dominant pass rusher run right at him.

  • Thank you sir
