Steelers Offensive And Defensive Snap Counts From Week 12 – Browns

Below are the snaps counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday 27-11 win over the Cleveland Browns along with some observations.

On offense, Mike Adams was on the field for 18 plays as an extra tight end. In addition, fullback Will Johnson only saw 7 snaps while tight end Michael Palmer saw just 10 snaps worth of action. Markus Wheaton is still fighting for snap scraps as he was only on the field for 4 offensive plays.

Defensively, the Steelers used a lot of quarters again as safety Will Allen played 48 snaps. Youngsters, Hebron Fangupo and Terence Garvin were able to get on the field to the tune of four snaps each.

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Leave it to me to mention the no-hitter during the game, but have we just gone 2 games with the same Offensive Line playing every snap?

  • NW86

FYI you’ve got an error on Polamalu, it shows him on 2 offensive snaps, 74 special teams, but 0 on defense. Also, I realize that DE is Woods’ listed position, but almost all his snaps came at NT after McClendon left.
I have no problem with Wheaton’s lack of snaps in this game – with the weather and the fact that the Steelers were playing with a lead most of the day, there is no need to put multiple receivers on the field, and Cotchery is dependable for those possession catches and has earned the right to stay on the field ahead of him. In other situations though, I do wish they would utilize 4 WR sets more.

Woods, Fangupo and Garvin receiving some snaps, hopefully some of these guys make some plays (like Al Woods) and show they can provide solid inexpensive depth heading into the offseason. Palmer once again received more snaps than Paulson

  • JAMESH

Not the same Oline for two consecutive games; but the same OLine for each of two consecutive games.

  • Eric

Why does Palumalu have 2 offensive snaps and 74 special team snaps?

  • treeher

Could have sworn I saw Troy out there on defense, but maybe I’m wrong.

  • Eric

Cortez Allen at 70% and Willie G at 100%? Did Tez get demoted?

  • steeltown

Yea, basically since his poor showing vs the Minnesota Vikings in London

  • patrick Mayfield

Foster was out last week so no.

James H: I have been screaming for Ben to get rid of the ball faster forever. Finally a couple of weeks ago, they started doing just that, even if it often comes from the no-huddle. I think Haley and Tomlin figured out how to humor Ben. Let him go no-huddle often, with instructions to try to get rid of the ball quickly, and the occasional deep pass. Even with 3 yards per carry, you run to keep the opponents honest. Throw in a few trick plays once in a while and off we go. Less turnovers and the opponents can’t just tee off.

The result is that most of the time the line just needs to hold up for a couple of seconds. Less scrambling, less 300 pounders crashing into your knees and ankles. Finally!!!

Get the ball in the playmakers’ hands.

  • JAMESH

    See above.

  • patrick Mayfield

ah you mean no mid game changes for 2 weeks running. I agree.

  • Don

Didn’t Cody Wallace play some special teams? I thought he was the one who got popped on the offsides play during a FG attempt.

  • Shannon Stephenson

he was in there on the 2 kneel downs as the guy playing back.
