Steelers Offensive And Defensive Snap Counts From Week 13 – Ravens

Below are the snaps counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers 22-20 Thursday night loss to the Baltimore Ravens along with some observations.

On offense, there really isn't much to point out. Markus Wheaton only saw the field for three snaps while Mike Adams played 14 snaps in total. He of course played both tight end and left tackle before leaving the game injured. The Steelers were forced to use a lot of three wide receiver groupings in the second half and as a result, Jerricho Cotchery played 59 of 66 snaps.

On defense, it's not hard to see how much quarters was played. Al Woods played a total of 18 snaps for starters while Will Allen and Cortez Allen each were on the field for more than 50 snaps. Terence Garvin saw 5 snaps on defense while Vince Williams only saw the field for 8 snaps.

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Nice to see T.Garvin get some snaps, always looking to the future with these young guys and Antwon Blake had another good game on special teams, he’s quietly been a nice addition to this roster

  • Elijah Stevenson

We should’ve put Wheaton in more snaps he’s supposed to be our new Mike Wallace and I know we can score quickly with his deep threat speed, I didn’t like how Haley didn’t involve him more throughout the game.

  • Elijah Stevenson

This was possibly Will Allen’s worse game playing at the safety position, Ryan Clark didn’t do anything except get drilled by rice, even though shamarko came back he was ounce again a non factor, troy is okay at linebacker but the safety position is his strong point be can’t do as much at LB, Ben looked rusty, Shaun Suisham cost us the game, and Mike Tomlin not ensuring that the team is practicing everyday until thanksgiving

  • Jacob Dixon

Haley needs to get marcus Wheaton more involved his speed opens up the offense

  • steeltown

well technically Shamarko didn’t play at all, except 5snaps on special teams

  • steeltown

I would at this point too, Sanders is having his best year statistically but he should be because he is now the #2, so its deceiving. I think he lacks focus. Tomlin is quick to bench RBs LBs and CBs when they struggle, yet he lets WRs play on

  • Elijah Stevenson

That last drive, when Ben threw the ball to Sanders it was no way near Ben’s fault Sanders had a little opening in front of the CB it went right threw his hands like u said lack of focus. Next year we should let him go, Derek Moye and Markus Wheaton are young talents with fantastic hands.

I don’t know how or if we can overcome these last string of injuries. The Velasco injury looks serious enough to keep him out a week or two, I just don’t see how we can shuffle this OL up any more. Cody Wallace at Center I guess will be the biggest issue and that’s hoping DeCastro and Beachum are OK

  • steeltown

Don’t forget Justin Brown, he had a couple of nice grabs in the preseason. Plus we can throw a soon to be draft pick in the mix as well

  • cencalsteeler

When they came out for the 2 point conversion (same formation as the TD), I thought for sure they would go right back to Cotch with the same play!

  • Steeler Wheeler

Sanders has a habit of being bad…no, I mean Sanders has a bad habit of falling to the ground while catching the ball…no wait, I mean dropping it. I’m now hoping against hope that he can string together a few good games and bring us a supplemental fifth round pick in 2015. See ya! Throw the game tying two pointer to him??? Please, dude has more drops than Limas Sweed.

Steeler loyalty to their own makes this organization great, and it’s top down from the Rooneys and contracts to coaches and playing time and even Big Ben is loyal to his guys, Same thing is sometimes the kiss of death:(

  • Shannon Stephenson

Garvin was very productive in college and in his last year played a 3-4 LB. Another nice UDFA find IMO.
