Steelers Post Game Injury Report – Week 9 – Patriots

Following the Pittsburgh Steelers 55-31 embarrassing loss Sunday to the New England Patriots, head coach Mike Tomlin quickly recapped the injury situation coming out of the game.

“From an injury standpoint, Vince Williams sustained a concussion as did Ike Taylor,” said Tomlin. “Those guys will be evaluated. Marcus Gilbert had a ankle injury.”

All of the injuries took place in the fourth quarter. Williams tweeted after the game that he is fine, so take that for what it is worth.

While Tomlin did not note it, I think Kelvin Beachum may have gotten dinged up late in the game as well.

The Steelers will next play the Buffalo Bills and Tomlin is scheduled to meet the media again on Tuesday.

On the bright side, I’m sure the Bills’ running backs aren’t looking forward to facing the intimidating Steelers’ run defense.

Their third string QB must be licking his chops as well.

I’m a dunce on cap issues but —

Trading Woodley for high draft picks and keep Woriids and Jarvis? Sean Spence should be a human bullet we hope? Draft LT and WR… and best athlete each round on 3rd…?

  • Eric

lets trade Landry Jones for a 6th round pick, since we gave up a 3rd to get him. Sorry, I though we were the Browns. Wait, are we?

The question is whether anyone would want Woodley right now at the price they’d have to pick up. In 2009 he sort of peaked at 50 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 1 FF, and 5 PDs. That’s when he got his extension when he was as good as he probably will ever be. Since then he’s never got more than 40 tackles, 10 sacks or 5 PDs in a season and since and has been averaging around 33 tackles, 8 sacks, 1.25 PDs, and 0.75 FFs a season.

Yeah draft LT but we would be stupid to do it in the first round. We need more skill on the field. Last time we went wr in first round was holmes thats a shame. GM stop being cheap!
