Steelers Troy Polamalu Named AFC Defensive Player Of The Week

For the seventh time in his career Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his play in the Week 12 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Polamalu recorded two forced fumbles, four total tackles, a sack and a defensed pass in the Steelers 27-11 win. One of the two fumbles he forced he also recovered and that one led to a field goal right before halftime.

In the second half, Polamalu strip sacked Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden and the ball was recovered by defensive end Cameron Heyward.

The last time Polamalu won this award was following the 2011 Week 17 win over the Browns.

He seems more aggressive WITHIN the system instead of all the free lancing aggressiveness that has cost us a ton of big plays.

Troy…I know that Thursday is turkey day but can you serve up a couple more strips ? Make them well-done please !

  • Steeler Wheeler

Little of both would be great. Troy is fast, strong, instinctive, capable of making great plays, has great hands, and can’t cover for shit. Gotta get him doing what he does well. Love him at LB in the quarters package. Almost comical seeing him scoot up to LOS and the tackle trying to block him. Whiff!

    Congratulations troy
