The Terrible Podcast – Talking Tomlin Talking Points, No-Huddle & Browns Preview With Nate Ulrich Episode

Season 4, Episode 47 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I get right into talking about what Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had to say Tuesday during his press conference. This includes us covering the injury situation as well as discussing the no-huddle offense that was used quite a bit Sunday in the win over the Detroit Lions.

We talk safety play and linebacker play coming out of the Lions game as we wrap up our final thoughts before moving on to week 12.

It’s Wednesday, so we begin looking ahead to the upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns. We are joined once again by Nate Ulrich, beat writer for the Akron Beacon Journal and, and he fills us in on what is going on with the Browns right now. You can follow Nate on Twitter at @NateUlrichABJ.

As usual, there are a few more talking points scattered throughout the show.

Will Allen has shown to be very solid and that is much better than what can be said of Clark this year. You say he won’t give you a lot of splash, but neither will Clark. Actually, Allen produced two turnovers in less than 2 games on the field. It’s not like Clark or anybody else in the secondary is producing like that. Obviously I wouldn’t expect him to keep up that rate, but at least he looks like he knows where to be and how to defend and tackle.

I find it ironic that Clark ripped Ben for trying to do to much earlier in the season and turning the ball over. Clark has been at the center of many of the poorest defensive plays all year and most of the time he is guessing wrong. Maybe a teammate should let him know (on ESPN) that this team just isn’t good enough for him to give up 80 yard TDs every other week. I’d play Allen ahead of him, but it seems like Tomlin loves Clark so he probably does not want to embarrass him by benching him.

On a side note, I just re-watched the Lions game and was pleased to note a real solid game by Cortez Allen.
