Miracle Needed: Steelers Playoff Hopes Rest On Chiefs Beating Chargers

The Pittsburgh Steelers still have life following their 20-7 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday and now we await the outcome of the Kansas City Chiefs game against the San Diego Chargers.

Thanks to the New York Jets beating the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals beating the Baltimore Ravens in the early games, the Steelers can secure the final AFC Wild Card spot should the underdog Chiefs somehow find away to upset the Chargers.

The Chiefs, who have nothing to gain by winning, will have to beat the Chargers without several key starters as Alex Smith, Jamaal Charles, Dwayne Bowe, Tamba Hali, Derrick Johnson, Branden Albert and Dontari Poe have been declared inactive for the game.

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

We made the bed so….. But damn, just 1 fewer miscue in any of the losses and we’re in and who knows what could happen. Have to say I’m proud of how they finished the year and am looking forward to next season. GO CHIEFS!!

If the Chiefs loose……bad karma for sitting starters..will get blown out in the 1st round.

    LET’S GO CHIEFS!!!

The football gods and the chiefs owe us one. The steelers have eliminated SEVERAL teams in meaningless games…including the bengals in 2006 to become the 7th thing out of 8 which got the chiefs in…so our mantra for the next 2.5 hours needs to be “remember 2006!!!” :-)

TD CHEIFS. 14-7, Its even worse if they lose a close one, I want to see one team just pound the other.

While it is frustrating, Andy Reid has no obligation other than to his own team. the Steelers had 8 other chances. Good news is that the Chiefs have a good D in place and Mccluster is a pretty good back.

I really think it was a bad move for them to rest their starters … they are not good enough to take that route, but that said … it doesn’t make it any less likely for them to win … they still have a 50/50 shot at winning as indicated from the first quarter score

I agree and it never even bothered me. It assures that the 22 guys on the field will be playing their hearts out. This is their CAREER maker. See willie parker. Earl Holmes, etc… Plus one of the things i like most about SD, is mike mccoy. Welp…all that scouting work is out the window. Of course KCC will miss the talent, but for ONE GAME…. I think they can give SD all they want and more
