Steelers Injury Report: Le’Veon Bell Progressing; Kelvin Beachum Questionable; Brett Keisel Out

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday and during it he went over the injury report as the team prepares to host the Miami Dolphins Sunday at Heinz Field.

Tomlin said tackle Kelvin Beachum (knee) won’t be practicing in the early portion of the week because of a right knee sprain. His availability for the game Sunday was characterized as questionable. Guard David DeCastro (foot) has a left foot sprain and he will also be limited early on in the week as well.

Defensive end Brett Keisel (foot) had a setback with his left foot this past Thursday and Tomlin characterized him as out for this week.

Tackle Mike Adams (ankle) will be limited in some form this week with his left ankle sprain but is expected to practice in some capacity. Running back Le’Veon Bell (concussion) practiced some on Monday in a limited capacity, according to Tomlin,  and he will have to finish out the testing this week in order to play on Sunday. Tomlin said it’s been very positive with him thus far.

Nose tackle Steve McLendon (ankle) will also work in a limited capacity this week with his left ankle sprain and they will see where that takes him in regard to his Sunday status. The same can be said about linebacker LaMarr Woodley (calf), who worked partially on Monday and will do so again on Wednesday.

Center Fernando Velasco (Achilles) ruptured his Achilles on Thursday and he had surgery to repair it on Saturday.
