Steelers Injury Report: Woodley, DeCastro, Bell And Adams All Probable For Dolphins Game

The Friday injury report for the Pittsburgh Steelers is now in for the Sunday afternoon game against the Miami Dolphins and it includes a little bit of good news.

Tackle Kelvin Beachum (knee) ends the week as doubtful after not practicing on Wednesday and Thursday. He is expected to miss the game with a knee sprain. Nose tackle Steve McLendon (ankle) is listed as questionable to end the week after being limited on Friday.

Tackle Mike Adams (ankle), running back Le’Veon Bell (concussion), guard David DeCastro (foot) and linebacker LaMarr Woodley (calf) are all listed as probable on Friday after all practiced fully. For what it’s worth, Woodley said he will be starting this Sunday on the left side after Friday’s practice was over and DeCastro said that he will playing against the Dolphins. Woodley, however, expects his snaps to be monitored closely.

With Beachum likely out, Adams will start at left tackle. Also, defensive end Brett Keisel (foot) will also miss the game this Sunday as he was ruled out earlier in the week.

Let’s hope Adams puts to use what he’s been learning while backing up?!

Good to have DeCastro back practicing fully. As a precaution, I’d still dress 8 OL for the game and for the rest of the season for that matter. Tomlin usually dresses only 7 OL on Sundays but our OL is beat up and we need that extra jersey.
As for Bell, I hope he is ok. Perhaps Dwyer should get some more snaps for this game.
I’m torn on how much Wood should play. I do know that he shouldn’t play 100% of the snaps on D. Utilize a rotation between JW and JJ. JW just has the hot hand now and needs to be out there as much as possible.
Mike Adams…..hmmmm I imagine that Heath and/or Will J. will be lining up on the left side to either chip or double team anyone that Adams can’t handle alone.
Boy, could we sure use Speath this week. If he’s not ready soonish, they will have to IR him for the season.

Wooldley just go out and kick some ass.

  • Steeler Wheeler

Would that be how to make $1M for nothing?

I know its a bit early to be talking draft. But, too many times I see the mocks saying the Steelers more than likely aren’t going to draft an O-Lineman because the top picks they have used the last couple seasons. But when you look at this team they only have three true needs. (LT, CB, and S.) I really hope this team can find a LT this year. Imagine a line with LT Beachum/Gilbert/Adams LG pounce/foster C Velasco/pounce RG decastro and gilbert or a young LT at RT until he get the experience needed to protect Ben’s backside. Having beachum as a depth guy which is what he really should be and all we do is draft one LT. Dominant line. Then they can do defense defense defense for the rest of the draft. I miss the old days when I expected a stop on 3rd down but hoped for the turnover. Now I hope for a stop and pray for a turnover.

Really have to look at the way Beachum has developed and played. I think we found our LT capable guy. Not sure it is a pressing need early in the draft. Rd 5 – 7 is where I would start looking. CB, safety, TE, WR not in that order are needs. I think with the way Beachum has played we don’t have to reach for a tackle and we can go into each rd grabbing best player available.

  • Lucus Rodriguez

I understand the Beachum has played well. But he is not a long term solution at LT maybe one of the guard spots but not LT. I don’t really feel that WR is a need they have brown, wheaton and will retain cotch, they just need a tall WR. I hope they grab the tallest receiver available somewhere from round 4-7. I could see them picking up one of the three TEs in the first round (Jace Amaro, Shafieran-Jenkins, or Eric Ebron.)

Wow..I was really hoping that Decastro would make it..Only having one back up starting on the line this sunday is gonna help..

  • Brandon James

LT Was his natural position in college, and he has gone up against some of the best pass rushers in the league and has given up almost 0 sacks the past 4 weeks. He is showing he is starter capable.

  • george

It would be great if Adams turned the corner and didnt give up any sacks or QB hits Sunday. Am I crazy?

  • NW86

You mean two – Wallace and Adams.

  • Chad H

    Bingo, that’s what I’m saying.

  • jonathan

    Miami is toast.

  • BurgherinMD

Agreed. If he can play in the Max Starks “ability range” he is serviceable, will stay relatively cheap and will allow the team to throw money elsewhere (Pouncey, Decastro, Heyward, etc.) in the next few coming years. The Steelers won two Super Bowls with Starks starting (one at each tackle) I would rather see them invest a high pick and $ to retool the defense.

  • Don

Sorry, did not make much sense in my excitement..I am happy that decastro can play because I didnt want to see two back ups on the line at the same time…I think the Offense would really struggle…especially with the run game..

  • alex

its not about the injury report, its about the replacement players…

Cody and Adams and the most important positions on the line…

but then again, the weather report tomorrow of 30 degrees and snow could mean a fish out of water result…

  • Don

Wallace sadly is now a starter..
