Below are the snaps counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-20 Sunday night win over the Cincinnati Bengals along with some observations.
As far as the offensive snaps go, the only thing that jumps out is the fact that two tight end sets were used at least on 79% of the plays run as Matt Spaeth played 49 snaps in total. Michael Palmer played two snaps in addition in three tight end sets.
Defensively, the Steelers again used Terence Garvin as their nickelbacker on Sunday night and he saw a season-high eight snaps. The Steelers still used their dime package as well as Will Allen saw 34 snaps of playing time. Also getting quite a few snaps in the base defense this week was Vince Williams. As expected, rookie defensive end Brian Arnfelt didn’t see the field much as he was only on the field for two defensive snaps.
