2013 NFL Regular Season Stats – Adjusted Net Yards Per Passing Attempt Differential

The 2013 NFL regular season is now over and here now are your end of the year adjusted net yards per passing attempt differential stats as we head into the playoffs.

As you can see, the seven teams that finished with a 1.0 or greater differential all made the playoffs. In addition, 10 of the top 13 teams in differential also made the playoffs.

The only team with a negative differential that made the playoffs, the Green Bay Packers, surely missed quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but their defensive ANY/A of 6.97 is definitely concerning.

The Seahawks obviously will be a tough out in the playoffs and playing at home will make them even tougher. Their 4.07 differential is incredible.

As far as the Pittsburgh Steelers go, their defense finally got under a 6.0 ANY/A number, but it happened way too late. They finished ranked 12th overall in differential, but ultimately didn’t make the playoffs because of what transpired last Sunday in the game between the San Diego Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Even if they had made the playoffs, odds are that they wouldn’t have made it to the Super Bowl with that defense.

As good as the Chargers are on offense to end the season, their defense is equally bad and as a result, they aren’t likely to get far if they make past the first round.
