49ers, Broncos Advance To Conference Championship Round On Sunday

The Conference Championship games are now set as the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos both advanced on Sunday with wins.

Peyton Manning and the Broncos will host the Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game next weekend as they beat the San Diego Chargers 24-17 in the late game. Manning completed 25 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns in the win and the Broncos rushed for 133 yards as a team.

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who only had 20 yards passing at halftime, finished the game with 217 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Rookie wide receiver Keenan Allen led all receivers in the game with 142 yards receiving and two touchdowns on six catches as the Chargers late rally came up short.

In the NFC Championship game, the Seattle Seahawks will host the 49ers, who took care of the Carolina Panthers 23-10 on Sunday. 49ers running back Frank Gore rushed for 84 yards on 17 carries in the win and quarterback Colin Kaepernick added 196 yards passing and one touchdown pass to tight end Vernon Davis.

49ers wide receiver Anquin Boldin led all receivers in the game with eight catches for 136 yards and kicker Phil Dawson chipped in with three field goals.

The Broncos open up as 6.5 point favorites over the Patriots while the Seahawks are favored by 3.5 points over the visiting 49ers.

So now that we are down to four teams, which Super Bowl matchup will you be rooting for?

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

I’d like to see great offense vs great defense… give me broncos vs seachickens

I was hoping the Broncos would win their game because they would provide better competition to the Patriots because I don’t want the Patriots and Belichick in the Super Bowl!

  • RJ

The playoffs essentially become rooting for teams I hate to lose.

As long as its not a Patriots-49ers Superbowl I’ll be happy (which will end up happening, because I can’t just have bad luck, I have to have super bad luck).

I won’t be able to stand another Brady Super Bowl or another Harbaugh Super Bowl.

  • JT

I honestly might hate the 49ers QB-coach combo more than the Patriots at this point. Anybody but those two punks, please.

  • DrakePirate

They are both great … why would u hate them ?

  • JT

Never said they weren’t great. Doesn’t mean they’re not smug a-holes.

Watching all the AFC teams last week I thought the Steelers would have beat all 4 teams that played, the Colts being the hardest game.

This week, I think we would have got beat by either championship team. Both teams ran the ball well.

    Just my opinion.

  • DrakePirate

i can see how Harbaugh might rub u the wrong way, although i think it is just because he is ultra competitive, but how do you see Kap as a smug ?

  • r4kolb

I was kind of hoping the Chargers would go all the way for 2 reasons. 1. the NFL would have to own up to the fact an officiating blunder allowed it to happen. 2. the nonsense of adding another wildcard team would hopefully be put to rest due to an 8-8 team going to the bowl. What next a 7-9 team because they got hot at right time? There has to be a benefit to being consistent for 16 games.

  • Kevin Gobleck

i thought the Broncos and refs were the ones who advanced
