Report: Titans Have Yet To Ask Permission To Speak To Keith Butler

For those worried that Pittsburgh Steelers linebackers coach Keith Butler might be the target to become the new defensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports on Wednesday that as of noon, Ken Whisenhunt asked permission to interview him.

Butler is of course under contract for the 2014 season and the previous two times that Whisenhunt tried to hire him away when he was with the Arizona Cardinals, the Steelers denied blocked that from happening as Butler was under contract both of those times.

Most of the speculation right now is that the Titans will go after Ray Horton to be their defensive coordinator. Horton of course worked with Whisenhunt in Arizona and has been granted permission by the Cleveland Browns to interview for any and all open coaching jobs around the league.
