Steelers Worked Out Two Pitt Products On Friday

The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely be working out several players during the offseason before signing them to futures contracts. On Friday, they worked out linebacker Scott McKillop and cornerback Kennard Cox, according to Adam Caplan on Twitter.

McKillop, a University of Pittsburgh product, was originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He dressed for 16 games his rookie season but played a total of 34 snaps on defense.

During training camp in 2010, McKillop tore his left ACL and patellar tendon and was waived by the 49ers at the end of August. He caught on with the Bills for a brief time in 2011 and was waived by them prior to the 2012 season starting.

Cox, also a Pittsburgh product, was drafted by the Bills in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 29 total games with several different teams over the years and was last a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
