Free Agent S Louis Delmas Expected To Draw Interest From Falcons And Broncos

As expected, recently released safety Louis Delmas did not sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday as the visit was likely more geared towards checking out that balky knee of his. Being as he was released prior to the start of free agency by the Detroit Lions, the former second-round draft pick at least has a jump on other soon-to-be free agents.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Delmas will be lining up more visits after the combine is over. He also adds that the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos are among the interested teams that might want to bring him in for a visit.

Degenerative knee condition and all, Pro Football Focus has Delmas listed as their 10th best free agent safety following his release from the Lions.

Delmas played in all 16 games for the Lions last season after only playing in eight in 2012. He was, however, listed every week on the injury report last season with his knee problem and that problem often limited him to just one practice a week with the Lions.
