Steelers WR Antonio Brown Has Issues With The New Pro Bowl Draft Format

Did you enjoy the new two day, fantasy style Pro Bowl draft this year? If you didn’t, you’re not alone as Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown apparently wasn’t a big fan of it either.

Per a Monday report by Pro Football Talk, Brown said earlier in the day on Sports Center that he thought the format “was a little bit off” and that he wasn’t a fan of having to wait so long to hear his name called.

“First off, you get there with a lot of great players, they make you wait two and a half hours under a tent for the draft at the Pro Bowl,” Brown said.

While the new unconferenced format produced a more competitive, lower scoring game this year, the two day fantasy draft was just too much and really not that interesting. You can’t blame Brown for having an issue with it and perhaps more players will speak up with their unhappiness about the draft as well.

If they can accomplish this draft in an hour and a half, perhaps it will appease the players. If, however, they want to continue with the two day format, attendance by the players should be optional.

In case you forgot, and we wouldn’t blame you if you did, Brown was drafted by the losing team that was run by Deion Sanders. Brown, however, did catch one pass for 39 yards in the game.

I have issues with the whole concept of the Pro Bowl!

Definitely hope they get rid of that pro bowl draft format, it was painful to watch on the NFL Network.

Didnt like the format because you never really knew what team your favorite players were on unless you watch the draft or had a piece of paper in front of you with it written down.. Least in the AFC/NFC format you knew who was on what team and who to root for…

Watched the Pro Bowl and it was more interesting than the old format. Looking at it from a player perspective I can understand their feelings but from the fan perspective it was a much better game to watch. Would welcome the game back the same way. In the old format it was boring and a joke. All Pro is the creme of the NFL.

I would not mind if the pro bowl game went away all together.

  • Kyle Owens

They should just name players to the Pro Bowl AFC and NFC but don’t play the game.

Have them do skills competition instead. 40 yard dash, Catching balls from jug machine, etc.

  • Nolrog

I’m not all that interested in the pro bowl anyway, but this format was stupid.

The problem is Deion who loves to hear his own voice and can’t shut up. Pro Bowl does not mean much anymore. Could care less what they do to change it. I rather spend my time on the Depot for Steelers details!

They still have a pro bowl?
