Blount Force Animated Gifs Of New Steelers RB LeGarrette Blount

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed former New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount on Friday and the collection of animated gifs below will show you that he is a very well-rounded player, and more than just a short yardage player that runs inside.

Despite the fact that Blount only carried the football 153 times in 2013, he had five runs of 20 yards or more and three of those resulted in touchdowns. Below are gifs of two of those five runs.

Last season, Blount only had two receptions for 38 yards, but one of those two resulted in yet another explosive play.

As previously mentioned, Blount also should be able to compete for the kickoff return job in training camp. Below is a gif of his 83-yard return last season.

Not only can Blount run, catch and handle returns, he can also dance. Here is below imitating the dance of former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis following a touchdown run.

I think the fans are going to love this guy.

  • WilliamSekinger

The starter is a very big yet agile back…and his backup is a very big and strong back. Sounds like Pitt’s running game will be back with a vengeance next year.

Welcome to the Steel City Winnebago!

  • Kurt Williams

All the Jonathan Dwyer fans……crickets. lol!

  • steelster

It looks like the titans will be releasing chris Johnson next week. It will be interesting to see what he gets paid from a new team.

  • Chris S

I’m not sure which team he was with at the time but I remember a game he ran over like 6-8 Packers on a run.

  • steelster

you have to live in az to get that joke, nice.

  • Milliken Steeler

Four Atlanta DB’s chasing him and only one could barely touch him as he got to the one yard line. He has speed for a big man.

  • Milliken Steeler

There was nothing wrong with Dwyer. If we didn’t get Blount, what would you be saying?

    Lets not get to cocky.

  • Louis Goetz

He had a 54 yarder against the Packers when he was with the Bucs. He ran through 8 tacklers and Matthews couldn’t get to him. He also had a 51 yarder as a Patriot against the Eagles where he changed directions four times and left the entire team adjusting their jocks. You can check it out on youtube.

  • Johnny Loose

on three of those gifs he keeps the ball in the inside hand. Not saying its a death sentence, just something i noticed

  • chris ward

Blount has such impressive explosion and feet for a big guy. Really like this signing by the Steelers.

  • dave

Love this guy! He was one of the 30 prospects that visited the Steelers in 2010, I wish we would have drafted him then….but hey, better late than never.

    Good eye.

The Ray Lewis dance is reason enough for Steeler Nation to embrace him heartily.

  • PA2AK

    Dwyer fan here…no complaining…now.

  • blackandgoldBullion

I bet you a beer he does well in Arizona.

  • blackandgoldBullion

That’s probably good for 1 extra fumble a year, perhaps.. But he’s still good.

  • Aric Brown

Unless they teach him how to see his lanes.. then he will always underwhelm… i liked dwyer and was sad to see him go… but don’t pretend for a second that he’s got anything on Blount

  • blackandgoldBullion

I think he was UDFA with Tennessee and I saw him in preseason that year doing one of his patented runs, where he hits a couple of guys, then hurdles another. My jaw dropped. Then I hear he’s in Tampa Bay. I think the Titans actually cut him. I know they had a couple of others back then, but they cut HIM?

  • steeltown

Those are fun to watch….. more to come

  • blackandgoldBullion

Absolutely. I do agree with you there. I remember thinking at times, “How the hell did you run that way, with all the room over there?” Seriously, I wonder if he needs to have his eyes checked. No, really. Just think of how he runs hard, and he now covers the ball better, which fixed the fumbling problem. Oh, well. I am hoping for LSH and a late rounder.

  • sean mcmartin

the way he ran through the bungles looked good and the funky chicken murderer dance was A1..

  • Shannon Stephenson

He seems to have decent speed for his size and good vision as well.

  • alex

    crush, kill, destroy!

  • pittsburghjoe

His ball security issues have already been documented. This is a “known”.

  • Paul Barracliffe

This is gonna go down as the best FA signing for the Steelers in the past decade

  • Roberto Vaquero Baz├ín

I agree, he never had a chance, Tomlin didn’t like him!

Blount looks good but gosh what was #25 of Atlanta doing in the first GIF? #28 took terrible angles and had to slow up behind #25 who couldnt commit to a tackle and seemed to be running alongside as a blocker. He also unintentionally blocked out #27. The only player taking the most direct route to the ball was #21.
