The Cleveland Browns entered the new league year with a lot of holes to fill and a lot of cap space to fill them with. After a busy Tuesday that included them signing a pair of free agents, linebacker Karlos Dansby and safety Donte Whitner, to four-year contracts, the Browns have started off Wednesday by adding yet another player to their secondary.
New York Jets unrestricted free agent cornerback Isaiah Trufant is now the newest member of the Browns and he will now be reunited with his former Jets defensive coordinator, Mike Pettine, who is now the new head coach in Cleveland.
The Browns addition of Trufant is more of a depth move than anything else as the undersized Eastern Washington product has started all of one game during his first four seasons in the league with the Jets.
Despite the addition of free agents Dansby, Whitner and now Trufant, the Browns lost one of their own free agents on Tuesday as T.J. Ward signed a a four-year, $23 million contract with the Denver Broncos.
