Dolphins Free Agent CB Nolan Carroll Visiting With Bills On Wednesday

Prior to the start of free agency on Tuesday, it was reported by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports that the Pittsburgh Steelers have some level of interest in Miami Dolphins unrestricted free agent cornerback Nolan Carroll and as expected, they’re not the only ones.

Carroll, who the Steelers hosted for a pre-draft visit back in 2010, is reportedly visiting with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday and apparently has other free agent visits with other teams already scheduled.

While the Steelers could certainly use an established cornerback such as Carroll, the interest in him around the league might result in too big of a free agent price tag for the Steelers, who will undoubtedly address the position in the May draft, regardless.

On Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed to terms with former Tennessee Titans cornerback Alterraun Verner on a four-year, $25.5 million contract with $14 million in guarantees and like Carroll, the Steelers reportedly had some unspecified level of interest in him as well.

As far as Carroll goes, he recorded three interceptions and 11 passes defensed last season for the Dolphins in 12 starts. He also has a good reputation as tackler having missed on three last season, according to Pro Football Focus. It is unknown whether or not the Steelers will be one of the teams that Carroll will visit should he leave Buffalo without a contract.
