Former Panthers WR Steve Smith Visiting With Ravens On Friday

Former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith is starting to make visits following his release earlier in the week and his first one is with the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens re-signed wide receiver Jacoby Jones earlier in the week, but they really consider him a third receiver in their offense and a return man. Even Marlon Brown played more snaps than he did last season as a rookie, because of an injury.

Smith is as gritty as they come, but he’s also about to turn 35 years of age and is coming off of a very disappointing season by his standards. Pairing Smith up with Torrey Smith, however, would make for an interesting combination even if it were only to be for one season.

The Ravens are expected to draft another young wide receiver in a few months, so Smith will be a rental of sorts. A smallish rental that isn’t afraid of anything or anyone.

Catching Flacco high off the market passes. Smith will be hurt by week 3.. so rent him if they want.

He’s definitely been a baller his whole career … that trio he came out of at Santa Monica J.C. is unbelievable .. Him, Chad Johnson & the guy that didnt make it was the best of the bunch … Isaac Bruce also went their a few years earlier !

Wow nice fact. That’s some talent. I’m sure they all played QB like most guys in the NFL. lol

Much respect to Steve Smith. You can’t measure heart so you never can measure what he is capable of when it comes to torturing other teams’ DBs. Our secondary better be ready for this onslaught if the Ravens get him.

Hate to say it, but the Ravens are having a decent off-season thus far.
