Report: Arizona CB Shaquille Richardson Has A Pre Draft Visit Scheduled With Steelers

Over the course of the next several weeks the Pittsburgh Steelers will be bringing in players for pre draft visits and as of Monday, we now are able to report who one of those visitors will be.

According to Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports, Arizona cornerback Shaquille Richardson has a pre draft visit scheduled with the Steeers.

Richardson, who did not receive an invite to the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine had a great week at the East-West Shrine Game, according to Bucky Brooks of He measures in at just over 6’0″ and weighs 194 pounds. He started 37 games in his Arizona career and registered three interceptions, seven pass break-ups and 55 tackles in 2013.

At his recent Pro Day, Richardson reportedly ran in the 4.4 range and many believe he will be a day three selection. The Steelers are expected to draft at least one cornerback in May and more than likely will double-dip at the position.

The Steelers are allowed 30 out of area visitors prior to the draft.

he would be a good late round pick up

  • DoctorNoah

Fast guys from small schools. Always a good pickup. If we get him in mid rounds we can take Ebron in the first. 🙂

Sorry this is off topic. Just watched an interview with James Harrison. He clearly hinted he wants to return to the Steelers. I know, I’m going against my own beliefs in bringing back an older vet, but if this is the time to do it, it’s now. He knows the system. He basically didn’t play last year so he’d be fresh. A scenario I’d like to see is a respectable salary for him knowing that he’d be rotating in to keep things fresh while the starters caught their wind.

I’m watching the history of the Steelers and it’s amazing. And I have to admit that nostalgia is setting in, as I am on record with having said decades from now we will look back on Harrison and realize what a dominant OLB and SOB he truly was. You know, Lambert is my all time fave Steeler. Imagine if Deebo could just come in occasionally, and especially on 3rd downs. He might still get it done but only for a cheap price. Then he can retire exactly the way he wants.

I am also on record as saying that they need to get younger, so I don’t think they go back.

Yeah, your probably right. But, like you, I’m watching, too and miss that nastiness that we used to be known for. Porter back, bring back Dee Bo and we could put the fuel back in the Lamborghini, as opposed to just having the shell.

hmm where ever did you get that idea lol, that whole interview cracked me up
Dan: James, Where do you want to be next year
    Ike: In Pittsburgh
    James: Everybody knows that
    Ike: HINT HINT!

James was my favorite Steelers for years and at best he would be a situational player. Most LB play special teams and at his age he couldn’t do that and would take time away from a up and comer at that position. Biggest problem is that James had his chance last year to sign and go out a Steeler and got Gready and wanted more money. So he shopped around and coun’t find as much money the Steelers were willing to pay, so the Steeler recinded their offer and he took less to play for the Bungels. James can’t blame his predicament on anyone but himself for not going out a Steeler. We would be a fool to sign James this year.

I think he’d be a great pick in the later rounds

  • LucasY59

I would say bring him in on 1st down against the run, he’s still Huge!
Jones could learn more than a few things from having Harrison around (a lot more than he probably got from Woodley)

    Arizona is a small school?

  • steeltown

    Nice size and speed

A guy with 3 total interceptions in his career. Sorry this team needs turnovers and guys with ball skills. Top corner in the first and somebody like EJ Gaines Missouri in the 4th would do us much better good.
