Report: Bills Free Agent DE Alex Carrington Leaving Pittsburgh Unsigned

After spending the day visiting with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is now reporting that Buffalo Bills unrestricted free agent defensive end Alex Carrington is leaving town unsigned. Bouchette did add that there’s a possibilty that Carrington didn’t pass his physical as he did tear his quad last season.

Like many of you, I was hoping a deal would get done with the Arkansas State product. Perhaps Carrington wants to make a few more visits before deciding where to play in 2014. It was reported a few days ago that the Cleveland Browns might have interest in him and there’s always the possibility that the Bills might still want him back as well.

All was not lost on Friday, however, as the Steelers did manage to sign former San Diego Chargers nose tackle Cam Thomas to a two-year contract. Thomas will help ease the loss of unrestricted free agent defensive lineman Al Woods, who signed a two-year contract with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday.
