Ryan Clark Says He Has A Free Agent Visit With Redskins Scheduled

Safety Ryan Clark won’t be returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014, but the veteran said Wednesday on Sportscenter that he has a free agent visit scheduled with the Washington Redskins.

Clark played for the Redskins in 2004 and 2005 after playing his first two years in the league with the New York Giants. During his time with the Redskins, Clark was teamed up with the late Sean Taylor.

Jim Haslett is the Redskins current defensive coordinator and his 3-4 defense is somewhat similar to the one the Steelers use. Haslett was the Steelers defensive coordinator from 1997–1999.

The Steelers signed former Carolina Panthers safety Mike Mitchell on Wednesday which was an indication the team was ready to move on from the 34-year-old Clark.
