Steelers Free Agent WR Emmanuel Sanders To Visit With Chiefs On Friday

Now that Pittsburgh Steelers unrestricted free agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has finished his tour of Florida, it appears as though he will be headed northwest to visit with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Sanders visited with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday.

In addition to visiting with the Chiefs on Friday, Mehta reports that the New York Jets have had numerous conversations with Sanders, who was originally scheduled to visit them on Friday until a conflict forced a change of plans. Mehta goes on to say the Jets are “still very much interested” in the former third-round draft pick.

At this point, you have to wonder if Sanders has a few standing deals in his back pocket because of all the interest in him. The Jets have already signed former Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker, but should still have plenty of cap room to work with.

Any reason to think he might come back if at the right price

Doubt it, looking as Wheaton will most likely emerge as a better target and the reports of us looking for a bigger target there might be no room for him

I’ll admit, I was expecting to hear more about him from other teams. Of course we don’t know all the ins and outs but I have a feeling he isn’t doing as well as he expected. Still early, though. Hopefully he finds himself a nice landing spot with good money. Best of luck to him.

Considering the wr pool is shrinking he still isnt signed. Carolina has 2 receivers left. lol

I dont think he passes the sniff test very well. I dont think he gets the most out of his physical talent and it shows on the field. Lets face it, Manny is average at best.

He is clearly a #2 Receiver at best; better suited to play the slot. However, as I’ve said numerous of times, he feels like he can be the #1 target and he simply isn’t a #1 WR. Maybe he is holding out to see who will bid the highest for his services; could be he has gotten an eye awakening thinking he would get an offer close to what Mike Wallace received last year. I think he is a clear cut multi-dimensional WR/KR/PR; I hope he finds a good landing spot as well.

Being a wide receiver on a team with Alex Smith as QB is bad for your career.

    great reply

I think he is actually more of a #3 guy … not quite good enough to be #2 … if he was more consistent and clutch … definitely a good number 2

He doesn’t care, he’s from the same mold as his young money buddy Wallace, he only cares about getting paid.

I actually hope he gets into a good system for him, some team that already has a No. 1 WR, so that he can do well and next year the Steelers get a good comp pick.
